This site is dedicated to celebrating my mom Rebecca (Becky as we call her in the hood) Chin's life. As you may or may not know, Becky lost the fight against small cell lung cancer on September 1, 2012. She was surrounded by her beloved family and friends. She was a fighter to the end but it was time to let her go as she was suffering from the effects of the endless treatments of chemo and radiation. Luckily, she had the opportunity to say goodbye to everyone who was important to her.
I was fortunate enough to be able to record her journey during the last year of her life. She's been a great inspiration to me throughout my life so I hope you enjoy my memories of her. If you are interested in visiting her, she is buried at St. Joseph Cemetery, 990 LaGrange St, West Roxbury. The best and easiest way is to enter through the Baker St. entrance. I'm not sure of the street names but once you enter the cemetery, take your 1st right, then 1st left, then 1st right again and lastly 1st left. Her grave is on the right on Chapel Hill next to a tree. You can't miss it. A huge amount of gratitude goes out to the people who has shared this journey with me and Becky via this site. The amount of responses has been overwhelming. I'm not sure how I should continue but maybe I'll blog about my journey of dealing with the loss as well as my Dad's acceptance of her being gone. I would still love to hear from you either by commenting on the blog or just e-mailing me at [email protected]. Again, please don't hesitate to share your stories or memories of Becky... especially those that made you smile. - Brenda Chin |
