Time of Reflection

It's funny how when you get older, you need time to reflect. Or maybe it's just me?? I feel like I need another trip down to FL and sit on the beach, watch the waves roll to shore and think of my Mom & Hel. And what do they think of what I'm doing with my life. Do they approve? I know they wouldn't disapprove. 

I'm re-connecting with some old friends and re-discovering those connections. Not much luck with making new connections as I don't have the time to invest in new friendships. Is that being selfish? 

And hoping to start up a volunteer project that I was working on prior to when my Mom got sick. Met up with my partner last week and she is also ready to do it!! Can't wait.... will keep everyone posted.

Year of the Pig! I was told it's supposed to be a good year for dragons? I have to say so far so good. And what a treat to have Nancy and Brandon here visiting during Chinese New Year. Nice to have more family around to celebrate. Mom would have appreciated it. Again, it's her favorite holiday and made sure she spoke with all of her siblings. 

I may have messed up my good luck cos I had a cyst on the back of my neck removed this am? It was scheduled as a consult but then the doc asked if I wanted it removed today? And I didn't even think twice about and wanted to get it over with. But had some guilt afterwards. Oh well, too late, I removed something bad so it can't all be bad. Will burn some incense and ask for forgiveness from Mom.

It was the end of the day Friday and my CEO comes into my office. And proceeded to tell me that I was promoted to Senior Director!! OMG, I couldn't believe it and was in total shock. I've been helping the HR Director with the 2018 performance reviews and was thinking I needed to brace myself that the CEO was probably going to give me lower rating. I don't know why I was thinking that. Anyways, It's an amazing feeling to be recognized and acknowledged by the CEO and the executive team. 

I also won the Super Bowl final score's square at work! Yay, Patriots! It was nail biting at the end cos either team could've scored another TD or kicked a field goal and I would've lost.  

I don't know what is going on but I have a lucky star hanging over me!

    I'm fortunate enough to have an awesome job at a biotech company. I'm also blessed to have the bestest of friends in the world - from Castle Square, ATASK, and Jamie Club - you know who you are! Last but not least, I have a family that are always there for me. 

    Because of all the people in my life, awesome opportunities have come my way - working and volunteering in the community. I hope to continue that work with a little help from my friends.
