I noticed this big brown spot on Choco's right eye this am. Crap, it's Sunday so his vet wasn't available. So took him to the ER in Waltham. He was seen by an ophthalmologist! Who knew there's one for animals? She diagnosed it as a corneal sequestrum and recommended surgery to remove it. They estimated it to be about $5,000! That's crazy!! But what can I do? I don't want him to suffer. Oh well, suck it up...I guess. This month has not been good healthwise for me or my cat.

So I've been dealing with a sore throat for the last month. Was prescribed amoxicillin for 10 days. Well, I felt better after 3 days so stopped taking it. I know, I know....need to finish the meds! So after two weeks, it came back. Then was prescribed a z-pak which I finished but broke out into a rash on the left side of my body. Just about 10-12 little red bumps. Almost like bug bites. I thought it was an allergic reaction to the antibiotics. Now come to find out it's shingles. A really mild form of it....no pain. So am on anti-viral meds..
My old body is falling apart. Can't wait to see what else happens. Has it really been 5 years since you left us? Jeez, sometimes it seems like just yesterday. If you were still here, you would probably be in MD celebrating your birthday with Nancy and Brandon! They would get a whipped cream fruit cake from Whole Foods for you.
Man, there are days when the hole in my heart feels humongous! Today is one of those days. I hope you are surrounded by your family in heaven. I do find comfort knowing that. I love you, Mom! Happy Birthday! Driving Dad around yesterday and he tells me he's going to NYC Friday. I told him that he shouldn't come back the same night And that he should stay overnight so it's not such a long day. Starts babbling about some woman he knows there that offered him a hotel room. According to him, she is well-off and that her husband was a coke dealer. WHAT?? Have you ever had a conversation with your Dad like that? Who knows coke dealers? I forget who I was talking to......hahaha.
