Yesterday during my weekly visit, Por was going on about how my Dad wasn't supposed to marry my Mom. It was frowned upon because she was a "Leung" and supposedly it doesn't jive with the Ngs?! Apparently, some girl was already chosen for him except that he made a pit stop in Hong Kong and met my Mom. And there was no going back for him. Por also wanted me to know that it wasn't that she didn't like my mom but that the surnames/villages weren't a "match". And don't ask me why she felt the need to bring this up?
And so the conversation continued until she asked me if I was seeing someone. And I told her yes and his last name is Chin. Is that a problem? And she replies "Who cares at this point? As long as he is good to you, marry him! You're not getting younger!" I couldn't stop laughing because this is exactly what I would expect from her!!
I showed her our pictures and she was shocked at how old she looked! And I told her she looked pretty good for someone turning 94 years old!
