Merry Christmas Mom

We celebrated Christmas yesterday at Rob's. It was a small party but Nancy & Brandon were in town so I was happy to have them join us.

Today was quiet, I basically worked all day to get year-end stuff done for all of my clients. I did visit my Mom today to wish her a Merry Christmas. Still haven't embraced the fact that she is gone and perhaps never will. Just have to learn to live with it and fill my life with other things to occupy my time.

Weird but Dad didn't go out for a couple of days. I think he was a little depressed. I guess I don't blame him....

Finally....my own place!

After almost a year of looking at condos, I closed today on a place in Newton! It's a small condo/townhouse near Cabots. It's an old-fashioned Ice Cream shoppe in Newton. So now I can invite people over and then walk over to Cabots for dessert.

I honestly believe my Mom had a hand in this. It's perfect for me, nobody living above me, quiet street, 2 bedrooms, 2 parking spaces and a half-finished basement.

I'm planning on getting the kitchen and bathroom renovated so won't be moving in til February. And looking at appliances, tiles, flooring and paint. My head is going to explode! More news soon.

Vegas for my birthday!

Thank you Rob for my birthday trip! A welcome break from work and the painful process of buying a house. Last time I was there was last Christmas with Dad, Nancy & Brandon. So a little different vibe. We gambled a bit and no we didn't win obviously! Would've been nice t help with the mortgage.

I did feel a little guilty that I didn't invite my Dad but someone had to take care of Choco and Bailey! I did miss those two. They were so happy to see me but then again I;m prob

    I'm fortunate enough to have an awesome job at a biotech company. I'm also blessed to have the bestest of friends in the world - from Castle Square, ATASK, and Jamie Club - you know who you are! Last but not least, I have a family that are always there for me. 

    Because of all the people in my life, awesome opportunities have come my way - working and volunteering in the community. I hope to continue that work with a little help from my friends.
