As some of you may or may not know, I listen to WEEI, sports radio. One of the hosts just lost his mom to cancer within months of his dad passing away. It's hard to listen to someone expressing the same feelings you've had or are still feeling when losing a parent. It's coming up on 5 years since Mom passed and I still think of her every day. I reflect alot on how she handled things, the shit she had to deal with from me and my Dad. I basically clashed with her pretty much throughout my life. But I'm glad I got close to her in the last 10 years of her life. She was a remarkable woman and I cherish the times that we spent together.
I'm grateful that I still have my Dad around. He can be a pain in the ass but he's still my Dad. All I can do is to enjoy the time we have together and appreciate his outlook on life. He lives life to the fullest and doesn't worry about anything. Not that I can tell. He has this childlike view on life, no regrets? One day, I will have a heart-to-heart talk with him. About his life and did he have dreams, what led him to gambling and does he have regrets? Will keep you all posted.
