Typically, I don't comment or provide my political views at any given setting. And I really don't know enough to feel like I can do it in an intelligent and convincing way. But seriously??!! Trump's racist comments last week are intolerable. So I apologize if I sound stupid but I cannot not say anything anymore. And hey this is my forum so I can say whatever I want.
Between his OWN degrading words towards women and his lies!!! I would be ashamed to say I'm a Trump supporter. Ok, I forgive you for voting for him cos you wanted change. And you hate Hilary. I get it. Let's be clear that I don't like Hilary either but she was a safer vote - at least for me. But to continue to support him after everything that has shown him to be a liar, racist and ignorant of how lower income families struggle. He's opened the doors for others like him to express their own racist views. Some even acting upon them. What kind of fucking world are we living in?
While I am doing well now and have alot to be thankful for, I won't forget what my elders went through. My grandmother's struggles coming to this country, my Dad's struggles and lastly what my Mom went through. She was a 17 year old girl who didn't speak English and had to leave her home in another country. She had to live with a mother-in-law who didn't like her and also take care of her two young brother-in-laws (2 & 6 year olds). And we know what she had to deal with - my Dad's gambling. And we never took advantage of any government benefits - my Mom just worked hard and saved $. And she probably didn't know there were benefits that could've helped.
So to have a President who has such a problem with immigrants - it's really scary. And never mind about the racism. Is it acceptable to be called chink once again? It seems like in this climate, it will happen.
